Building on a foundation of success partnering with U.S. government entities, such as the U.S. Department of Defense, federal government agencies, and state and local governments, Wright Tool Company, Inc. (WTC) is looking to evolve and accelerate its government sales practice with a new position for a proven public sector sales leader.

As Outside Sales Representative, you will architect and execute the next phase of our government go-to-market sales strategy, serving as a critical member of the sales and business development team. You will be responsible for creating and executing our government sales roadmap, prioritizing opportunities, developing and then executing an effective sales approach to maximize WTC’s impact and success in the public sector.

This role will report to the president of WTC and work directly with the executive team, as well as business and technical leaders across sales, kitting engineering, operations, production, and process development. You will be responsible for defining requirements and cross-functionally coordinating resources to expand WTC’s government revenue efforts.

****PAY BASED ON EXPERIENCE****

Requirements:

● Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

● >10 years of experience selling into the public sector any combination of services, products, equipment, or technology in the categories of hand/power tools and beyond.

● Experience in managing day-to-day sales and leading a capture team when required.

● Demonstrated track record of delivering and managing multimillion dollar pipelines.

● Proven success with business development responsibilities, finding funding for government programs, and most crucially negotiating and winning significant contracts, awards, and grants.

● Deep understanding of U.S. government organization across departments, agencies, offices, working groups, committees, etc. and their operating, procurement and contracting processes.

● General aptitude, curiosity, and passion for program development, pursuit, and capture of large government programs.

● Intimate knowledge of product & program development processes and how new program requirements are evaluated and implemented within the U.S. executive branch offices.

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including effective public speaking to persuasively present to the highest levels of government.

● Ability to travel >30% within the U.S. to visit government customers and attend conferences and tradeshows.

● FOUO Designation: This position may require to work under Federal Contracts under the "For Official Use Only" designation, and as such, you may be limited to access such programs if you are not a U.S. citizen or have dual citizenship.

● Eligible for security clearance.

Preferred:

● Previous active duty or reserve duty military service.

● Active confidential, secret, or top secret security clearance.

● Experience working at early-stage, rapidly-growing organizations.

● Extensive established network of political and career staff relationships across the government in specific offices.

● Experience directing consultant firms and/or lobbyists to find and create funded programs and develop the relationships necessary to capture those opportunities.

Location:

● Preference to be located in the Detroit metropolitan area.

● Primary customer location is in Warren, MI, with a remote work location possible.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
